LANDMECO was founded in 1932 in Ølgod and has grown to become an international manufacturer of poultry equipment. In 1970, the distribution of poultry equipment began, soon encompassing everything from drinking systems and feeding systems to laying systems and liquid vitamins. In 1977, the company underwent a generational shift, with Søren Andersen becoming the new owner and leader. In 1979, the company adopted its current name, LANDMECO.
In the 1980s, LANDMECO began manufacturing poultry equipment. Initially, nesting boxes were produced, and since the poultry farm’s own production involved floor-raised hens, it provided excellent opportunities to experiment with different types of equipment to find solutions that worked better than the existing systems on the market. Subsequently, LANDMECO began investigating the production of feeding systems, including both pans and troughs. The systems were designed for both broilers, breeding animals, and layers.
In 1999, LANDMECO launched its well-known patented pan feeding system with kick-off and easy cleaning features. The system is still sold today, but in a new and improved version. From the late 1980s onward, Karsten Andersen, the son, became increasingly involved in LANDMECO, particularly in the development of the company’s own products. In 2007, Søren Andersen passed away, and the position of director was taken over by Karsten Andersen.
In addition to the mentioned products, LANDMECO now manufactures many other components within poultry equipment, and the company has grown to become the largest producer of poultry equipment in Scandinavia, with exports to many parts of the world. In 2018, LANDMECO was acquired by SKIOLD A/S, a leading Danish company in the agricultural sector with subsidiaries in Europe, CIS, Asia, and Oceania.
In 2024, following a strategic decision, LANDMECO re-established itself under its original name while remaining under SKIOLD’s ownership through Solix.
