Interest in Landmeco products is growing rapidly in the Canadian market: ‘Many want a concrete offer and we are ready to deliver’

2. April 2025

Presence, presence, presence and presence. Henrik Blæsbjerg, Landmeco’s Regional Sales Director responsible for the Canadian market, is in no doubt about what has played a major role in the growing interest in a wide range of Landmeco products in Canada and the North American market.

“The fact that we have had a physical presence in Canada for several years is starting to pay off. This ranges from working closely with our dealers, participating in a number of trade shows, our open show rooms and online webinars,’ says Henrik Blæsbjerg.

He travels from Denmark to Canada at least once a month, and so far in 2025 he has attended exhibitions in Montreal, Ontario and Saskatoon.

More and more attention is being paid to open systems

Henrik Blæsbjerg is experiencing that Landmeco’s products are attracting more attention.

‘As in many other countries, Canada is increasingly looking at moving from caged hens to open systems with free-range hens with a focus on animal welfare. In this process, Landmeco’s equipment fits very well,’ says Henrik Blæsbjerg.

According to Henrik Blæsbjerg, there is also a shift underway where Canadian consumers are increasingly demanding eggs and chickens from the open systems that Landmeco offers and has been developing for many years.

At the same time, the market is also focussing more on the fact that there must be a financial gain for farmers by switching from caged to free-range hens, which results in a higher payment today compared to the same time last year.

Many want concrete offers

There is also a political focus on replacing cages with free-range systems and more production quotas are being allocated to produce eggs for agriculture in Canada.

‘We have meetings and conversations with a number of egg producers who are considering investing in Landmeco products. Many want a concrete offer and we are ready to deliver, and it’s important to emphasise that we have the best and shortest delivery times in the industry.

With these good dialogues, my hope and expectation is that we can close more orders in the coming period,’ says Henrik Blæsbjerg, who also explains that dealers have increasingly taken in more Landmeco products.

‘A year ago it was mainly equipment for broiler production, but I’m pleased that more of our dealers are also starting to sell our rearing and egg systems.’

Hard and determined work

The positive winds in Canada do not mean that Henrik Blæsbjerg and the rest of the Landmeco team will unwind and take a break. ‘The rest of 2025 will also require hard and determined work, because it’s important to constantly improve the co-operation with our dealers. This will be done, for example, through information meetings and special events, where both retailers and farmers get even better knowledge of our systems through education and training, and this applies to both eggs and chickens,’ says Henrik Blæsbjerg.
