The Danish poultry market is booming – and LANDMECO is maintaining short delivery times

LANDMECO is experiencing a poultry market in rapid development.

Interest from farmers across the country is historically high, and this is reflected in the activity at the Danish equipment manufacturer, where inquiries and new projects are pouring in.

“We are extremely busy. There are an extraordinary number of inquiries from both established producers and farmers who want to start with layers or broilers,” says Morten Jakobsen, Sales Manager for LANDMECO in Denmark.

He started in the role in August 2025 and immediately felt the increasing demand.
The interest in poultry does not only come from existing players – former mink farmers, plant growers, and pig producers are also among those considering expanding their business with poultry as a new revenue stream.

“This is something many have talked about for five to seven years, and now it’s happening. Consumers have truly chosen chicken meat and eggs, and the industry feels it clearly. Many farmers see poultry as a future-proof production with both market demand and political room to grow,” he says.

Fast delivery creates competitive advantage

One of the strongest advantages in the busy market is delivery reliability. While other suppliers struggle with significantly longer delivery times, LANDMECO can currently deliver equipment in just eight weeks.

“The short delivery time is a clear advantage. It means our customers can get started quickly, and that’s exactly what many want right now,” emphasizes Morten Jakobsen.

LANDMECO is currently working on several layer-house projects – both new builds and expansions – and the sales team is traveling across the country visiting existing customers and potential new producers.

“The positive thing is that we experience a good mix between us taking the initiative and farmers reaching out on their own. We spend a lot of time ensuring that we understand their needs – and on offering guidance on how to get started properly,” he says.

Close dialogue with customers

LANDMECO has also strengthened service and customer follow-up. According to Morten Jakobsen, it is crucial that no customer is forgotten – neither those who have just had equipment installed nor those in the start-up phase.

“We place great emphasis on learning from our customers. Input about what works well – and what can be improved – is an important part of how we develop.”

Expectations: Two busy years ahead

The outlook for 2026 and beyond is promising. Slaughterhouses report a shortage of chickens, and packing centers are demanding more eggs – putting pressure on the entire value chain.

“The next two years will be very busy. We are ready to deliver quickly and help more Danish farmers get started, and our ambition is to be an active partner in the development that’s currently accelerating,” says Morten Jakobsen.

As part of strengthening relations with both new and existing poultry producers, LANDMECO has launched a new meeting series titled “Chicken and Coffee at LANDMECO.”
It is an informal afternoon event focused on professional sparring, networking, and practical insights. Farmers considering entering the poultry industry are also very welcome.

“We want to make it easier to get an overview and answers if you are considering starting or optimizing chicken production. And we know it helps to ask questions directly – over a cup of coffee and in good company,” says Morten Jakobsen.

In the coming months, there will be three events in Ølgod, where participants will get a tour, a professional presentation, and the opportunity to share experiences with other farmers. Participation is free but requires registration.

“We have emphasized keeping it down-to-earth and relevant – not a sales pitch, but an afternoon with inspiration and practical input you can take home. And of course, it’s also an opportunity to meet us and see the technology in practice,” he concludes.

In addition, the LANDMECO team looks forward to participating in Nutri Fair 2026 and the Danish Agriculture & Food Council’s Poultry Congress 2026 in January.
