LANDMECO chief executive after a busy first half of the year: We are getting busier and putting more focus on Denmark

The first six months have been busy, and the period lives up to expectations, and the last six months of 2024 may be busier at LANDMECO in Ølgod.

This is how managing director Anders Kristian Andersen’s status reads.

“Especially the USA has opened up positively this year, and in general we are living up to the strategy and the plan laid out for 2024,” says Anders Kristian Andersen.

One of LANDMECO’s great strengths is the best delivery times, and that must not change. Therefore, the staff has also been expanded in the sales department, back office and in the warehouse.

In recent years, LANDMECO has had a great focus on entering foreign markets, but now attention is also being turned up on Denmark.

“While our growth journey has been out in the world, we have not been good enough to take care of the local market, i.e. Denmark, well enough. We have realized and acknowledged that, and that is being changed now, so we must also make use of the know-how, ideas and knowledge that is in Danish chicken production,” says the managing director.

More focus on Denmark

Specifically, LANDMECO welcomes two new employees who can greatly contribute to lifting LANDMECO in Denmark in particular.

One is Rune Thomsen, who for a number of years has worked with the production of chickens. The other is Hans Klemmensen, who has both extensive experience in rearing chickens and egg production.

“Together with the many skilled employees we already have, the two of them can help us become more visible and have a greater dialogue with the Danish farmers,” says Anders Kristian Andersen.

LANDMECO also offers two open houses during the autumn, where the expectation is that many chicken breeders and egg producers will stop by and have a chat with LANDMECO’s various specialists.

Plus on the bottom line

Financially speaking, the managing director expects 2024 to end in the expected profit.

“We have to use the plus on the bottom line to develop the store, because the most important thing is that we can offer local and healthy workplaces that are so exciting that we can also recruit the right employees with the right skills in the future, so that our current and talented employees can have colleagues to develop and innovate with,” says Anders Kristian Andersen.
