Denmark’s Largest Chicken House Inaugurated by Kjeld & Gerda Andersen

Kjeld & Gerda Andersen have proudly inaugurated Denmark’s largest chicken house, spanning an impressive 6,278 square meters and measuring 146 x 43 meters. With a capacity of 130,000 chickens per rotation, this state-of-the-art facility showcases Kjeld’s expertise in both building construction and chicken production.

LANDMECO supplied the pan feeding system, drinking system, and augers for this massive project. The house features 1,880 feeding pans, providing 1.88 km of feeding edge, and 8,000 drinking nipples. It includes 20 rows of feed lines and 22 rows of drinking lines, each measuring 71.5 meters, powered by 20 drive motors and 9 auger motors.

This barn requires approximately 520 tons of feed per rotation, with 7.6 rotations annually, amounting to 4,000 tons of feed per year—the equivalent of what 110 elephants eat in a year.
